The Keepit Kool was closely contested over five good races as you can see from the joint winners in both Overall Winners. After the days on rain and strong winds on the days prior to the weekend, we had sunny days with wind for the five races, and the cool nights to allow for bonfires to keep you warm. The yabby race on Saturday night was good fun for all with the kids cleaning up in most races. After dinner on Sunday night we had our trivia night, run by Mark and Prue Kesby in the clubhouse with the winner team taking home large Yeti Coffee Cups provided by Ridley.
Thanks to Evan McHugh and Michelle Havenstein for being the Race Officers for our regatta again this year and enjoying the camping at the clubhouse. We had six Lake Keepit Sailing Club members compete in the Regatta this year and provided six others with SailPass membership to allow them to complete in the Regatta under LKSC.
We appreciate all those that registered and travelled from Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney including a fleet of OK Dinghy's and A Class Catamaran's from a fair distance away. We look forward to next year with our new Men's, Ladies and the Access Bathrooms now up and running after a big year from a team of volunteers that completed hundreds of hours at the club to get them finished in time for the Regatta.
The Regatta included the following boats in each fleet
- Dinghy Fleet x 15
- Fast Muilthull x 14
- Multihull x 5
- Sports Boat and fast Monohull x 6
- Trailer Sailer x 6
The club is running a fundraiser raffle this year for a Wilderluxe 2-night "Big Sky Dreaming" package at Wilderlux Lake Keppit valued at $1400 T&C's apply, that was donated by Wilderluxe c/o Reflections Holidays.
